"Turano continues to be one of the funniest voices in the inspirational genre, and her spunky heroines will appeal to readers across the romance spectrum."—Booklist

After growing up as an orphan, Millie Longfellow is determined to become the best nanny the East Coast has ever seen. Unfortunately, her playfulness and enthusiasm aren't always well-received and she finds herself dismissed from yet another position.
Everett Mulberry has quite unexpectedly become guardian to three children that scare off every nanny he hires. About to depart for Newport, Rhode Island, for the summer, he's desperate for competent childcare.
At wit's end with both Millie and Everett, the employment agency gives them one last chance—with each other. As Millie falls in love with her mischievous charges, Everett focuses on achieving the coveted societal status of the upper echelons. But as he investigates the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the children's parents, will it take the loss of those he loves to learn whose company he truly wants for the rest of his life?

Good help is hard to find. Everett Mulberry needs someone who's not only good but also courageous to care for the three creatively diabolical children he inherited when his best friend and his wife were killed. The kids have run off every nanny the employment agency has to offer. Every nanny, that is, except one. Millie Longfellow has been fired from position after position because she encourages children to be children, often with disastrous results. Worse than that, she just can't seem to understand her place in the stuffy, stratified upper society of 1882 New York. What seems to be the last chance for both Millie and Everett turns into the best opportunity they've ever had, because true love doesn't recognize social class, and courage comes in many guises. Turano (After a Fashion, 2015), known for her delightfully humorous tales, has done it again with her irresistible blend of perplexed hero, imperturbable heroine, perpetually perturbed peacocks, dastardly villain, and of course, Jane Austen.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2015, American Library Association.)
